In my opinion, Birkenstocks are one of the strangest shoes to style (at least with my personal wardrobe).
I thrifted these "Birks" when I was maybe 13 or 14, and I've worn them no more than 10 times since.
They're a simple shoe, but I try to style them in a way to avoid looking as if I've just walked through Babylon circa 1480 b.c.,
or I've just won a hacky sack tournament. To avoid both scenarios completely, I tend to dress them up and I never wear them with skinny jeans!  If I did my feet look big, bulky, and it's just not a good look for me.
So I wore them with this super comfy, slouchy fit co-ord (which always gets mistaken as a jumpsuit)
and my new favorite boxy leather jacket, both ASOS.
Co-ords were definitely "in" and/or a "trend" last spring, but I still love-love-love them!
The best retailers to still find cool co-ords, are Boohoo, ASOS, and Missguided - all at reasonable prices.
Co-ords are basically a fashion 2-for-1 (if they're not sold separately).
Moral of the story...I need to wear these Birkenstocks more or give them away.
